Product Description:

This eye-catching Ojibwa pottery vase comes from the Curve Lake region of Ontario, Canada. The vase is glazed in part with a dark brown tone over the natural cream-colored surface of the pottery. It is decorated with traditional tribal figures all around its surface, and signed “Whetung Ojibwa Pottery” with an etched canoe and wave symbol typical of the maker. This beautiful vase is in excellent vintage condition. Please view accompanying photographs.

The Whetung Art and Craft Centre, where this vintage vase was acquired, is located on the Curve Lake Indian Reserve 160 kilometers northeast of Toronto, in the popular tourist area known as the Kawartha Lake district. Authenticity at the Centre can be seen in the work of Indian artists from across Canada.

This wonderful, lush earth-tone vase would make for an exceptional addition to any collection of Native American pottery or artifacts.
