Product Description:

Copyrighted and produced in 1948 by Parker Brothers, Inc., Rich Uncle is “the stock market game that is different,” according to the marketing spin on this game. The basic premise is that rich Uncle Pennybags (of Monopoly® fame) owns the town newspaper, the Daily Bugle, not to mention most of the town, and so what he says goes. Throughout the hour-long play of this board game, and with or without Uncle Pennybags’ advice, the wise player who, through the stock market, can grow his original $10,000 to $50,000 wins the game.

This board includes all its original components: paper money, money chits, Market Price announcements, stock market payoff cards, issues of the Daily Bugle, a pair of dice (one red, one white) and instructions. For the most part, this 1940s game is in good vintage condition (but please review all accompanying photographs).

The box top has great pastel graphics, but does show wear along its edges and corners, with the light blue paper in one corner beginning to peel away from the cardboard box frame. The cover also has a couple of tape marks. The box bottom is in good condition, as are the interior smaller boxes that originally held many of the game’s components.

The stock market board (i.e., the game board) is in great condition. Please note that the board is nailed to the frame that supports it, but this is reflective of the original construction of the board, not a repair of it. The various chits are also in good condition, though some of the paper money has folds or creases or is slightly curled. The Daily Herald postings are in great condition.

The game instructions, though, are somewhat torn along the horizontal bias of a fold. This condition does not, however, deter the legibility of the instructions themselves.

Rich Uncle: The Stock Market Game promises hours of family entertainment, especially for those who enjoy playing the stock market or experiencing the challenges of “high finances.” If you, your family, or your friends are fans of Monopoly®, then this game is a great extension of that one.

Note: As part of the Spring Awakens Sale, purchase of the Rich Uncle: The Stock Market Game comes with a free $25 Dogbotz Boneyard gift certificate, which can be redeemed during a future purchase at our online store. The expiration date of the gift certificate is one year after purchase of this item.
