About the Artist:

The Imperial Porcelain Factory is a producer of hand-painted ceramics in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was established by Dmitry Ivanovich Vinogradov in 1744. and was supported by the Romanov tsars since Empress Elizabeth. Many still refer to the factory by its well-known former name, Lomonosov Porcelain Factory.

On 29 May 2005, the stockholders of Lomonosov Porcelain Factory passed a resolution to return to their pre-Soviet name, the Imperial Porcelain Factory, which has recently started to produce hand-made copies of porcelain from the range of Imperial porcelain exhibited in the State Hermitage Museum collection. This range includes dinner sets, collectable plates, vases, figurines from the famous series of the Russian Peoples and other porcelain items from the assortment of porcelain made here since the foundation of the factory in 1744.

Product Description:

This lovely three-piece Imperial Porcelain Factory ink well has a hand-painted floral design in rose pink, yellow and green. The three components of this delicate porcelain desk accessory are a large platform, the ink well, and the well’s lid. Each piece is expertly crafted and beautifully rendered.

This vintage ink well, handcrafted in the 1960s, is in excellent condition, free of any chips, cracks, or crazing of the glaze. It does have some slight scuffing on the platforms feet due to age. Hand-painted in black script on the ink well’s platform is the marking in French “Impérial Décor Main France.”

This gorgeous, vintage porcelain ink well set would make for a charming gift for any occasion as well as bring beauty and value as a family heirloom. For collectors of fine porcelain or ceramic home décor pieces, this one is would be a wonderful treasure.
