Product Description:

This finely and expertly carved Liganmi wooden vase was handcrafted in the late 1980s by Aboriginal artisan Dhuwanydjika, an early artist of the Yirrkala Arts and Crafts Centre (a community-controlled art center of Northeast Arnhem Land of Australia). This impressive piece features a band of flowering plant life upon a background of finely inscribed lines. The pattern has been beautifully hand-painted with earthy brown ochres.

This vintage vase is in excellent vintage condition, free of marks, scratches, chips, paint loss and repairs. The original Yirrkala label remains with the piece, identifying the maker and catalog number. The carving remains crisp and the ochre colors are wonderfully vibrant with no losses or wear. This fabulous Aboriginal vase has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. In addition, this impressive piece would do well as a unique gift for a family member or friend, and it would enhance any living room, library or office décor. Finally, if you appreciate and collect the craftsmanship of native peoples from around the world, or if you specifically collect indigenous Australian artifacts, this stunning piece would add great value to your collection.
