Dating from the 1940s, this caramel- and red-colored Bakelite pipe with Rosewood bowl and gold accent band was designed as an eye-catching smoking implement for the chic lady. Commonly found in the drawing room, this pipe was intended to be used for an after-dinner smoke. This unique piece is nicely crafted with a Rosewood pipe bowl and an opaque caramel Bakelite section below it with a contrasting translucent red Bakelite stem and mouthpiece. The coloration and gold detail make this “dresser jewelry” a unique piece. The colors are separated with a gold band upon which the initials "JR" have been stamped on the gold band. In addition, the word “Czechoslovakia” is stamped on the caramel portion of the stem.
