When released in the 1960s by Arrco Playing Card Company, Trail Drive was promoted as a “new exciting game of the West,” where players rounded up their herds and hit the trail with their chuck wagons, cowboys and longhorns. However, rustlers abounded, seeking to steal any player’s cattle.
Though the game box shows some signs of shelf wear, it has no split corners or edges. The 40 game cards are in excellent vintage condition, seeming as if they were never used. The graphics of both the box front and the cards remain bright and colorful. Included with the cards are a two-sided rules card and an advertising card for other “Pla-mor” children’s games and products.
This beautifully rendered and easy-to-play card game offers the potential for hours of family entertainment. It would make for a fun gift for any child who has a fascination with the Old West or for a vintage toy and game collector.
