About the Artist:
Sud & Co. (formerly Pastis & Co.) ceramics are handmade by potters from an area of southeastern France stretching from the southern Alps to the port city of Marseille on the French Riviera.
Provence has a very long history of pottery-making and the tradition is still very much alive today: go into any house across the region and you are almost certain to find Provençal pottery in the kitchen or on the dinner table, not as an ornament but as an integral part of daily life. These are beautiful, but they are above all useful objects; they are tools.
Sud & Co. discontinued its business as a ceramic manufacturer in mid-2009.
This is a gorgeous, hand-painted, 8" plate produce by Sud & Co.. The colors are yellow and dark navy blue. It is signed “Sassi,” the artisan who made the plate.
This piece is entirely handmade, painted, and fired by a skilled local artisan. The decoration and glazing of the piece has a rustic effect inspired by the country setting of southern France. This Sud & Co. pottery piece is safe for serving food. Don not clean it in a dishwasher, however.
This French pottery urn makes for an excellent gift for any special occasion. In addition, this colorful plate would add great value to your own pottery collection. This piece is sure to become a treasured heirloom in your family.
