This antique educational card game focusing on language arts was created and copyrighted in 1903 by Cincinnati Game Company. The Game of Words card game features 111 cards with varying quantities of the different consonants and vowels used in the English language.
The game cards are in excellent vintage condition, free of tears, creases, stains, and frayed edges. A few cards have slight discoloration from age. The letters on the front side are printed in large type and are very legible. The artwork on the back of each card that depicts a teacher with her students remains bright.
The game box, on the other hand, is in fair condition. The box top shows some edge wear, particularly in all of its corners. The box bottom has three split corners. Please review attached photographs to note condition issues.
The instruction booklet is in good condition, with only some slight discoloration from age. The booklet presents a variety of word and spelling games that can be played with children in the first through fourth grades.
The Game of Words card game is ideal for home schooling or for an elementary language arts teacher. For those who collect antique games, the Game of Words is also an excellent addition to such a collection.
