This really cool, old game from the Milton Bradley Company of Springfield, Massachusetts, is all about fishing. But beware! With Hook, players will be fishing for words, not for fish themselves.
The game is complete and the instructions are written on the inside box lid. The object of Hook is to “fish” or hook letters to spell words, thereby receiving cash awards. Each player attempts to complete three words from a list of subjects that is provided. For example, one player may pick the subject “colors of paint,” whereas an opponent may choose “a boy’s pet.” The first player to hook three words associated with his or her selected subject wins the game.
Hook is in pretty good vintage condition, sporting fantastic box cover graphics of a boat called "Dottie" and two fisherman. The box has some minor box edge wear in the corners and along some of the edges as well as some scuffing to the cover illustration, but the components are in good working order.
This beautiful and fun vintage game offers hours of great family entertainment. In addition, Hook would make for a delightful gift for any child or for a teacher of language arts. For collectors of vintage games and toys, this unique game is a tremendous find.
