Produced in the mid-1950s under the renowned Pepys card game line of Castell Brothers, Ltd., of Great Britain, Wu-Pee was marketed as “a novel card game for children.” The goal of the game is for one player to collect all nine cards that form the entire image of one of four specific clowns.
The pack consists of 40 cards, of which four represent a clown and the remaining 36 are the “puzzle pieces” for the four main clown images. The Wu-Pee game cards are in excellent vintage condition, free of tears, creases, stains, discoloration and frayed edges. The illustrations on the front side remain bright and colorful.
The four-page instruction sheet is in fair vintage condition. The sheet is rather crumpled and the back sheet has a tear. The condition of the instruction sheet does not hinder legibility of the rules.
The game box has some condition issues. The top side flaps have torn away from the box. Some of the box corners show signs of wear, and there is some staining here and there. Please see all accompanying photographs to review condition issues.
This delightful puzzle-type card game offers a fun evening of family entertainment, especially for those with younger children. For those who collect vintage card games, children’s games and toys, or European-made games, this card game promises to be a great addition.
