This excellent, fully complete, yet seemingly never-used men’s vintage travel kit dates back to the late 1940s. The case is made from 100% top-grade leather. Many of the kit’s components are Lucite: the toothbrush holder, the comb, a large soap container, and a smaller box for razor blades and other grooming tools. The shoe brush handle is made of wood, and there are two nail files, one of Lucite and one of stainless steel.
The entire kit and its components are in great vintage condition, with a few minimal rubs, two of which are on the inner cowhide straps. The kit lacks identifying hallmarks other than the Art Deco-style letters “GP” in a triangular shape holding the comb and “Serval” on the zipper handle.
An added bonus is a stand-up frame with a vintage picture of movie star Betty Grable. On the backside of the photo is a shaving mirror.
This beautifully designed and solidly constructed men’s kit could definitely be used for travel or as a collectible. It would also make for a great birthday or anniversary gift for that special man in your life. The travel kit is not only useful but also quite elegant.
