From Heraclio Fournier Vitoria of Spain comes this vintage, and unusual, 48 Tarot card deck. Unlike other Tarot decks that are divided into major and minor arcana, this deck is divided into 4 suits (batons, coins, cups and swords) of 12 cards apiece. Cards numbered 1 through 9 are “pip cards,” whereas those numbered 10 through 12 feature the “court cards” of a page, a knight and a king, respectively. There are no queen cards in the deck, nor any cards of a major arcana. Included with the Tarot deck are two Heraclio Fournier promotional cards and an additional King of Cups, which features on its backside other game products made and distributed by the Spanish card company.
This deck is in overall great vintage condition. The plastic case that houses the Tarot cards does have some minor scuffs due to wear, but it still is in great condition. The beautifully illustrated cards are very colorful and gorgeous. They are free for creases, tears, and frayed edges.
This Tarot deck is so unique that it would add great value to any collection of such card decks. The cards many also be used as playing cards, but again, unlike a traditional deck of 13 cards per suit, this deck only has 12.
