This authentic brass military Brinton navigational and field compass was copyrighted in 1914 by Ross Evans on London, England. Its design was used again in the 1930s for the battles during World War II; this specific compass is from that era. The compass is octagonal in shape and comes stored in its original leather case with strap. The compass features several field sighting and navigational tools in addition to its usual function.
The compass itself in is overall great vintage condition. The brass of the compass has a nice patina typical of its age. The internal mirror does have a few spots on it. All the different tools that come with the compass are in good working order.
The leather case that stores the compass along with its leather strap are also in great condition. The leather has darkened with age. The metal closing buckle of the case does have some rust on it, but the buckle still works well.
For those who collect military gear and equipment, this historic yet functional brass Brinton Compass makes for a delightful addition to such a collection. It would also be a super gift for someone who collects World War II or other military goods.
