This beautiful, antique Victorian brooch made in the 1900s in Italy has gorgeous, vividly colored, micro-mosaic tiles over its entire surface. The red, blue and white tiles are set into gold-tone metal, creating a stunning look. The craftsmanship is superb.
Overall, this brooch is in very good antique condition, free of any missing tiles. The gold-tone metal is slightly discolored with age, which is only to be expected. The pin mechanism in back is also in great condition. The letters “ITALY” indicated that the brooch was produced in that country. Please note though that the letter “Y” has been almost been rubbed out to due wear.
This Italian antique brooch would do well with any outfit, casual or formal. It would also make for a thoughtful gift for a family member, friend or colleague. If you are a collector of vintage Victorian-era jewelry, then this brooch is right for you!
