About the Artist:
When asked about his plein-air style, subject matter and muse, Roger Wedegis stated, “As you can see, most of my work incorporates a Labrador Retriever in some whimsical way. Living with three, they are a constant reminder not to take things too seriously. As I do all my painting outdoors, I am forever being interrupted by a juicy tennis ball in my lap and cold wet Lab nose poking my elbow. In spite of or because of all the help from my furry friends, I’ve had a continuous supply of inspiration that I’ve been able to share with collectors all over the world.
Dogbotz Boneyard recommends the canine compositions of Roger Wedegis because of his capacity to capture the playful nature, the loyal companionship, and even the ineffable spiritual dimension of community that these four-legged creatures share with us, their human cousins. Whether portrayed in a natural or urban setting, the artist’s subject gently reminds us of why dogs have for millennia been our best friends and most devoted guardians. And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art for your own personal collection, we present Roger Wedegis’s Play Time.
