About the Artist:
After working as a professional in the data-processing field for many years, Jan Pastor decided to retire and spend much of her time on her painting. Her fine arts education came from Munson Williams Proctor/Pratt Institute in Utica, New York, which included drawing, figure painting, art history, and printmaking. After relocating to Cincinnati, Ohio, Jan furthered her education with professional watercolor artists.
While living in Utica, Jan was an active member of an art group where she was treasurer for many years. Jan has won numerous awards for her paintings. Her watercolors are in private collections worldwide.
Dogbotz Boneyard recommends the artwork of Jan Pastor because of the stark simplicity of her pieces. With a wise use of white space, Jan allows the central images on her watercolors to emerge from a place of memory, dreamtime and even imagination; hence, they are impressions of what has been remembered or anticipated. Yet, her scenes are iconic, vibrating with the wonders of country living that many of us have witnessed or yearn to experience anew. And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art for your own personal collection, we present Jan Pastor’s New Friends.
