Copyrighted and manufactured in 1955 by Language Institute, Inc., of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Learn Spanish by Playing Cards is a marvelous educational tool devised to teach the Spanish language to youngsters and adults alike. This vintage product is composed of five unique games: Animals, Comparisons, Synonyms, Opposites and Occupations. Each game is comprised of two decks of Spanish language cards and instruction booklets written by Professor Raphael A. Soto of Lehigh University.
Overall, Learning Spanish by Playing Cards is in great vintage condition. The covers of the instruction and phrase booklets are a bit discolored with age, as are some of the card deck boxes. The cards themselves are in wonderful condition, generally free of bends, tears and frayed edges; however, some cards have yellowed with age. The exterior box cover has bright color graphics, but some of the box corners are marginally worn. The red box bottom has some minor scratches. Please see all accompanying photographs for condition issues.
If one of your children (or even you or a friend) wants to learn Spanish, though vintage, Learning Spanish by Playing Cards provides a unique and entertaining system of doing so. It also makes for a great gift for a Spanish language teacher.
