About the Artist:
David Silva was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He learned early in life that he would do better as an artist than as anything else, so he dedicated his time working in different places to pay for his fine arts schooling. He also worked for on one of the most successful magazines, Monica — Mauricio de Souza as a cartoonist.
In 2000, he immigrated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he started doing murals and faux finish for wealthy people. Since then, he has lived in the states of Washington and Utah, where he started painting on canvas as well as creating cartoons. He has sold some quite beautiful artwork in recent years and has had exhibitions of his work in Seattle, Salt Lake and Oregon.
In 2015, he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he currently lives with his husband and their children. David’s studio is in his home where he dedicates his time to creating art.
Dogbotz Boneyard has invested in the charcoal and colored pencil art pieces of David Silva because of the diverse subjects he portrays through his Pop Art images and the emotional content emanating therefrom. Sometimes he presents the viewer with a subtle mystery; other times, with playful and erotic vibrations; and yet in other works, with the haunting reality of loss and grief. Be it Batman and Superman in amorous embrace, a sailor getting ready to depart on his next cruise, or a young child’s hand reaching for the dog tags of a deceased soldier-father, the artist reveals his joy, his compassion, and his humanity. And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard art gallery for your own personal collection, we present David Silva’s Unspoken Love Affair between Superman and Batman.
