From the mid-1940s from the British game company comes Neville Duke’s Test Pilot Card Game, beautifully illustrated by artist A. B. Bowbeer. This is the original edition of the Test Pilot Card Game, not a reproduction, and it features then-contemporary planes including the Vulcan, the Delta, the Comet and the Javelin. The object of the game is for players, acting as test pilots, to score points for each aircraft given a trial run.
The card sets presented for a test run include:
- A 44-card playing pack of single or group groups with 2 depicting British test pilot Neville Duke.
- 48 Results of the Test Cards divided into four categories: Test OK (10 points), Compass Unserviceable (6 points), Radio Failure (3 points), and Striking Undercarriage (0 points).
This rare card game is in great vintage condition with all its cards and instruction booklet present. The game box shows minimal signs of wear; the instruction booklet is in great shape with minimal yellowing; and, all game cards are free of tears, creases and frayed edges. Though only flaw is that the Neville Duke card originally pasted to the box top is beginning to pull away from the box.
Here’s another card games that offers great entertainment for the entire family. For those who love games that focus on airplanes and flight, or for those who collect vintage Pepys card games, Neville Duke’s Test Pilot Card Game is a wonderful find.
