Zuni artist Ronda Dosedo has created a contemporary, delightful, small beaded sculpture of a bunny holding a carrot — just in time to celebrate the Easter holiday! Using at first a small wooden form to shape the initial form of the bunny, the artist has then used cream-colored beads held together by Peyote stitches to finish off this tiny sculpture. Black beads for the bunny’s eyes and red beads for its nose along with an orange beaded carrot with a green beaded top have also been incorporated into the sculpture’s design.
The bunny with carrot is in excellent condition, never having been previously owned. So, this fun, little example of contemporary tribal folk art would make for a great Easter gift or for an addition to a Native American artifacts collection.
