From the early 1950s comes this delightful, old-fashioned tin toy spinner plunger toy. The top is beautifully and vividly illustrated with cartoon images of astronauts on a desolate planet surface and of space ships soaring into the heavens. Primarily composed of tin, the toy’s drill-like plunger is fabricated from steel with a bright red wooden knob on top that rests on a blue wooden base.
This tin top is in great vintage condition. Its plunger still operates well, getting the top to spin here and there on a flat surface. Some scratches appear on the top of the toy from years of use as well as circles of scuff marks on the bottom, indicating that this toy was played with often. A red sticker from Value Village on the topsides of the toy indicates an original price of 39 cents for this tin top.
For anyone who collects vintage toys, especially those made of tin, this outer space-themed top would make for an ideal addition to any collection.
