About the Artist:
Bunny Griffeth has a degree in nursing but has painted all of her life. Her recent early retirement from nursing has allowed her more time in the pursuit of her first love — art. She has studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and has been studying with C.C. Wolfe at the East Side Art Studios in Providence, Rhode Island. She has traveled to take workshops in Florida and Block Island. Also an avid photographer, her photos are references for many of her paintings, besides the plein air painting she has done.
She is a member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, Pawtucket Arts Collaborative. Her watercolor paintings have been displayed at the Rhode Island Hospital and in shows around Rhode Island. She has won awards for juried shows at the Watercolor Society, honorable mention in the “Bon Appetite” show with her Afternoon Respite and Second Place in the Waterfire Show with Waterfire, and honorable mention in the "Light Show."
Dogbotz Boneyard appreciates the artwork of Bunny Griffeth because of the nuances of the temperament or interplay of the subjects she depicts—frequently animals and still-life objects. She tends to enhance the mood of her central figures or scenes with vibrant pastel colors or soft earth tones, with organic shapes, and with knowing looks or postures potent with possibility, even at rest. Thus, in each of her pieces, a story is unfolding. Do you know what it is? And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art for your own personal collection, we present Bunny Griffeth’s Monarch Butterfly.
