About the Artist:
Linda Apple grew up in the Appalachian hills of Southern Ohio, where, at an early age, she became enamored of drawing and painting. She feels fortunate to have had parents who nurtured her creative talents.
Linda was awarded a scholarship to Columbus College of Art & Design (Columbus, Ohio) in 1964, which was her first formal step into a lifelong journey in the creation of art. Always seeking new ideas, opportunities and experiences, Linda ventured to France, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Mexico, Canada and the Southwest region of the United States.
Linda has sold her paintings and sculptures in fine art galleries and to private collectors since 1968. Over the past 38 years, her artwork has gained international recognition through exhibitions in Mexico, Canada and the USA and has been acquired by some very prominent art collectors.
Dogbotz Boneyard appreciates the artwork of Linda Apple because of how her visionary and whimsical images of beauty and serenity touch the imagination of the viewer, leading the individual to another world — perhaps to the realm of the fantastic or the memory of a joyful childhood experience. Her juxtaposition of diverse elements — a toy, a musical instrument, a piece of fruit, a guinea pig — unified effortlessly within a single frame creates a storybook feel that is reminiscent of an age of youthful innocence, of simple pleasures and of the wonder for life. And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art for your own personal collection, we present Linda Apple’s Gone Fishing.
