About the Artist:
According to artist Mary Yezek, “My artwork reflects variety, for I am a variety of people: female, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and perhaps an adversary.
“As time and chance changes every aspect, I, too, am in flux. Art can go along with life and circumstances. It can stay the same, take stark chances, and then go back to the comfortable. Hopefully, each transition has a growing experience attached.
“What type of artist am I? Watercolorist, collage artist, print-maker, sculptress? I never want to be one thing. I am pulled to try the variety that art has to offer. From realism to whimsical, 2D to 3D, each project offers the opportunity to vent my feelings, whether joy or sorrow. It is my passion and my solace.”
Dogbotz Boneyard recommends the abstract artwork of Mary Yezek because of the intricate details used in her collage, each piece of which reflects the main theme of the subject: time. Upon close inspection, the viewer realizes that each cutout, regardless of color or shape, is a timepiece — either a watch or a clock — that has been cleverly and meticulously placed adjacent to or on top of another timepiece to create a portrait of a woman with surprising detail. This is not a mere collage but a masterpiece of vision and manifestation wherein the abstract and even the metaphoric present an unexpected Realism. And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art for your own personal collection, we present Mary Yezek’s Timeless Beauty.
