About the Artist:

R. Naudin is a self-taught artist who grew up in a small farming community in New Jersey. His family had been farmers for generations. He was taught that producing a quality product that people need is an honorable way to spend one’s life. So, through art, which he has always loved, he aims to achieve that simple lesson.

All of his paintings are original, fashioned only from nature and his imagination. As he indicates, “Since I learn my craft by trial-and-error, I probably don’t have a highly developed style that will sweep the galleries of New York and Europe. I must rely on my honesty and the honest simplicity of my subject.” He is, therefore, an outsider folk artist.

He paints with very thin, hand-mixed polymers, which allow greater detail, fewer perceptible brushstrokes and less textural shadowing on the canvas. “Unlike thick, crusty paintings, my work can be viewed in less-than-perfect lighting,” he informs us.

R. Naudin and his works were originally introduced to our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art buyers in the “Folk and Outsider Art” exhibit of August 2012.

Product Description:

Dogbotz Boneyard appreciates the artwork of R. Naudin because of the overall simplicity of his compositions and his obvious love of nature. Each painting has a clear focus filled with subjects depicted with vivid colors and tempered motion, which often creates a storybook image that reveals a simple truth. Yet, his paintings are not mere childish folk tales but rather profound ethical lessons about the inherent benefits of family, nurturance, temperance, and wisdom. And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art for your own personal collection, we present R. Naudin’s Spring Foal #7.
