From Palphot, Ltd. of Herzlia, Israel comes the vintage Happy Families Game: Animals of Israel card game. No publication date appears anywhere on the game box or cards; however, when compared to other games produced by Palphot, the card game was most likely released to market in the 1970s. The game cards sport stunning photographs of 40 different animals found within the nation of Israel. Cards and game rules are printed both in Hebrew and English.
The 40 game cards are in very nice condition, though the box shows some wear with a few bumps, smudges and bends. In addition, a stamp or seal of some sort appears on the bottom end of the box.
This game is similar to the popular children’s games of Old Maid and Go Fish. In Animals of Israel, each player tries to collect matched sets of four cards. The winner is the person who has collected the greatest number of sets by game’s end.
Animals of Israel would make for a marvelous gift for an evening of family entertainment. In addition, this card game would be ideal of a teacher of the Hebrew language and/or culture as well as for a collector vintage multilingual games and toys.
