About the Artist:
Growing up in Cranston, Rhode Island, Richard Del Ponte was always drawing and painting. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy. Returning from the Navy, he moved to Florida, where he opened a painting business working with interior designers. These designers soon discovered his artistic ability, and suddenly he found himself painting murals.
His trompe l'oeil murals grace the walls of many homes, from the prestigious Fisher Island to Key West and Palm Beach, Florida. Del Ponte has worked commissions all over the United States and sold paintings all over the world. He has won numerous awards over the years. His work has been exhibited statewide.
Del Ponte’s versatile media include oil, acrylic, and watercolor; he does portraiture, street painting and performance art. In recent years, he is enjoying the challenges of going outdoors on site in the elements with a blank canvas and capturing the scene in his unique style and Expressionism colors.
Dogbotz Boneyard has collected the artwork of Richard Del Ponte because his works offer stunning portrayals, figural or landscape, populated by splashes of rich colors and conflicting tonal juxtapositions, animated by broad strokes and fine detail, and informed by a delightful Expressionistic style that seeks substance beyond the mere form. And so, from our Dogbotz Boneyard Gallery of Art for your own personal collection, we present Richard Del Ponte’s Raspberry Beret.
