15-Inch Long Wooden Case Plane
3 lbs., 12.8 oz.
2.5"w x 5"h x 15"l
This old wood plane dates back to the late 1930s and was acquired from a McHenry County auction, just northwest of Chicago, Illinois. This nicely crafted wood plane is still a functional tool. It has a steel blade that is held in place by a black steel wedge that is loosened and tightened from a screw in the back of the blade assembly. A wooden handle in the back of the plane and a wooden knob in the front, both inserted into a steel plate, make usage of the plane quite easy. The body of the plane is made primarily from solid wood.
Once a woodworking workshop item, the plane shows the years of use in its worn wood and wonderful coloring. This wood plane makes a great accent piece for any den, workshop, or “man cave” as it is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
