This stunning pinwheel flower brooch designed by Albert Weiss in the late 1960s is composed of blue rhinestones with blue marquise aurora borealis stones — all of which is set in a shiny silver-tone metal foundation. Acquired from an estate sale in Winnetka, Illinois, this brooch has been kept in very good vintage condition by its previous owner. All the rhinestones are original and sparkly, and they glitter gloriously. The clasp and pin mechanism works well. The hallmark “Weiss” appears on the bottom of the backside of the brooch.
Like the snowflake Weiss brooch also sold by Dogbotz Boneyard in this holiday collection, the blue tones of the rhinestones of this pinwheel brooch would complement any winter outfit. This one-of-a-kind brooch would make for an excellent holiday gift for friend or loved one. Or, add its beauty to your own costume jewelry collection!
Albert Weiss was a jewelry designer in the 1940s and 1950s, and Weiss jewelry designs are valued today for their astonishing style. Weiss jewelry may be marked "Weiss," "Albert Weiss," or "A.W. Co." Many of his pieces are considered collectibles, and each one embodies an unmistakable style. Like most other costume jewelry designed in this era, Weiss jewelry is intended to stand out and augment a women's beauty with shine and design. Weiss costume jewelry is not limited to women who are attempting to create a sensation. A Weiss brooch can be worn today with scarves and sweaters, or to liven up a dark winter coat. As hats are becoming more popular in style, brooches can also be placed on the brim or crown. Please note that a piece of Weiss jewelry can turn bland into sophisticated.
