Description

The blue mountain swallowtail (Papilio ulysses) is one of the most popular butterflies among butterfly collections and art pieces. The ulysses is difficult to photograph, its colors change a little from a light bright blue to a darker, rich blue depending on type and angle of lighting. The origin of this butterfly is Indonesia.

A Riker mount consists of a cotton-filled hard cardboard frame with a glass top. The butterfly is not glued but is gently pressed against the glass by the cotton. Riker mounts are not sealed and can be easily opened to extract or reposition the butterfly simply by removing two to four pins that are on the sides of the frame. Although the Riker mounts is not sealed, the butterfly will still last for many, many years as long as you keep it out of direct sunlight. All Riker mounts have a sawtooth hanger on the back for easy hanging.

This stunning display of a blue mountain swallowtail would make an excellent accent piece to any library, study, enclosed porch, or any area of your home that focuses on the wonders of nature. It also is wonderful find for any lover of nature or student of biology, entomology, or life sciences.
