Indian Chief Doorstop
4.75"w x 6"h x 2.875"d
2lbs., 11.3 oz.
This rare vintage cast-iron doorstop made in the image of an American Indian chief dates back to the early 1950s.The figure of the chief is very well detailed, and the piece remains in great vintage condition with only a few rust spots here and there. On the back of the doorstop on the reverse of what is the chief’s headdress, there is a stamp that reads “CHAD 113.”
This solid piece is not only functional as a doorstop but also would serve well as a bookend in a library, though there would be no matching mate to the piece. For those who collect Depression Era or Mid-Century cast-iron products, this Indian chief doorstop would make for an excellent gift or a great addition to one’s metal collection.
