This 1950s vintage educational arithmetic quiz tin toy tests all four mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Manufactured by the Wolverine Supply & Manufacturing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, its illustrative lithographs show the teacher and students hard at work practicing or instructing their math assignments. A handle on each side of the metal toy spins the questions, while the lower windows display the quizzes and the upper windows reveal the corresponding answers.
The arithmetic quiz toy is in good vintage condition, though it does possess several scratches and stained spots on the surface. The school-house red, cadet blue and black and white colors remain solid. Despite a bit of wear from regular use on the handles, they function well so that the quiz questions rotate easily.
This rare tin toy would make for a great addition to not only any metal product collection but also any collection that focuses on either educational devices or Mid Century toys and games. This is a delightful item, don’t let it pass you by!
