Glazed Beehive Stoneware Jug
3 lbs., 5.5 oz.
8" diameter x 10.25" h
Kitchen, Dining Room
Dating to the early 1900s, this antique primitive jug has a brown glazed finish that changes color from a dark black-bluish gray to a brown color at the handle and then to a light yellow color at the base. The formed handle and spout have several chips at the rim (see product photos). The pock-marked finish adds to the authenticity of the piece.
This primitive stoneware vessel is a nice companion to other similar jugs in this collection. The jug provides a great contrast to the natural finish found on many stoneware vessels.
