This charmingly sweet pink enamel rose and rhinestone flower bouquet brooch is signed Coro and dates to the 1940s. The prettiest pink enameled roses, lovely mint green enameled leaves, clear rhinestones, and both rhodium-plated and gold-tone finishes adorn this large brooch. Design patent 131,859 for this brooch was issued on March 31, 1942 and signed by Adolph Katz. Rhinestones are present and still sparkling but some have slight yellowing and a few have darkened. The pink enamel is beautiful and in overall very good condition but there are a few tiny nicks visible on close inspection. Finishes are in very good condition. Pin/clasp is in perfect working order. This gorgeous beauty makes for a fun spring or summer fashion statement.
The Coro costume jewelry company started doing business in 1901, producing jewelry under several brand names, including Corocraft. Some of their more notable products include the Coro Duettes, Coro Tremblers, Coro Door Knockers and Coro Crown Pins. The Coro company went out of business in 1979.
